Shelby Houlihan became the first female athlete since Jenny Simpson in 2011-12 to win the 1,500/mile and 3,000/2-mile in consecutive years at the USATF Indoor Championships at Albuquerque Convention Center in New Mexico. Houlihan clocked 4:13.07 in the 1,500 and 9:00.08 in the 3,000 after winning the mile last year in 4:45.18 and the 2-mile title in 10:19.14.
