Maria Michta-Coffey set the U.S. record for most consecutive indoor women's 3,000-meter racewalk titles with nine, clocking 13:00.53 at the USATF Indoor Championships at Albuquerque Convention Center in New Mexico. Michta-Coffey trails only Diane Dixon and her run of 10 straight indoor 400 titles from 1983-92.
